Lyckegård has today signed a letter of intent with BT Agro Oy to acquire the production and sales rights of Kvickfinn. Kvickfinn is a cultivator and is mainly used against perennial weeds such as quackgrass and thistle primarily in organic farming. Kvickfinn have been sold to the Nordic and Baltic markets and as a result of Kvickfinn now becomes part of Lyckegård, sales are now open to the rest of Europe through existing distributors.

“We are extremely pleased that we have been able to complete this acquisition. We are strengthening our offer in mechanical weed control where the cultivator Kvickfinn complements our own innovation, the selective weed cutter Combcut. The acquisition means that we continue to deliver on our new strategy, where we aim to take a position in mechanical weed control. The goal is to be able to support our customers in the conversion from chemical to mechanical weed control,” says Christian Bjärntoft, CEO of Lyckegård.

On 1 January 2020, BT Agro, who has been a distributor in Finland for a couple of years, will continue to take care of the Finnish market for Lyckegård’s products and services. “We have a very good cooperation and they will continue to sell and distribute the company’s products. BT Agro’s two owners, Boris Lindgård and Tom Hellström, will split their roles – Boris will be part of Lyckegård and work globally on the expansion of the company and Tom will continue to run and develop BT Agro in Finland. This is a perfect set-up,” Christian continues. “This is going to be amazing! We have had a great collaboration and now we are taking the natural step of fully working together to expand both Kvickfinn and Combcut”, Tom and Boris conclude.
